VERY nice - as stated on the other thread about this kit, I like the colour a lot.

It reminds me of late fifties/early sixties cars - Vauxhall Crestas, Morris Minors, Wartburgs...Not lime green, better.

This is the first Hoshino-kit I have seen with reinforcement rings - how thick are the shells?

Oh - and you really should do those bearing edges - the finish deserves it!

Regards

Jon

Jon, what is a Hoshino-kit ? I did fix up the edges on the shells, they were pretty bad. I filled in the gouge and then sanded all of them smooth. The shells are very thin, 3ply. It would have been nice to have wrapped some venner over the luan but I didnt want to get too much money invested. This is a kit a picked u for 50.00, it came with a nice Slingerland steel chrome snare drum which I am keeping. So after buying heads, finish materials, missing parts I have about 255.00 in it.

Again, what is a Hoshino-kit ??

Thanks everyone, your so kind. Wish you could hear them, they really sound good, amazing for a cheep set of drums. Must be the Evans EC2 heads along with the 9 coats of lacquer. I did get the white paint on the edges but sanded them with 320. Any reason the edges should be bare wood?
