I tried to remove that Ludwig granitone finish once and found it very difficult. I would suggest leaving the granitone. If the other drums are maple then I would re- finish them to maple. In other words I wouldnt care if they all matched, I would restore each drum to its origional finish.

I'm sure that would make the kit more valuable. Im still puzzled why someone would want 2 - 20" bass drums. It would be so cool if one of them was virgin or had a rail instead of the tom tree. I gave $800 for the kit and sold one cymbal for $200, a 20" Paiste. It came with a pair of zildjian 15" hats and 2 cracked paiste crash.

IM thinking restore the oriiginal kit to its original finish and sell all the extra drums or something
