I already have two kits of my own, i`d say that`s enough for now. It would be really nice ( it looks like 3rd series made by Amati that uses standard heads) but for 1800 E they are very expensive (that`s the price for a brand-new Sonor Ascent!!! Mind Blowi). I don`t think anyone will buy them at that price.

Another found of mine is this: MIJ Maya Drums , with hardware and Paiste cymbals, for only 150 E ! The cymbals look like a 2002 black label crash, unknown hi-hats and a 505 series ride( or 101, i`m not sure, both had green labels). i`d like to get my hands on that ride but i don`t have any money now...:(

Hi guys,

my father was playing Super Amati drum kit 1981-1985. He got them brand new. The colour was white oyster or something like that. I'm from 1982, so I remember not so much about the kit. But for that time the drums were considered as a very high quality and good sounding in musician community. In 1985 the band stoped its existance and all the load of instruments was sold. Now my dear father decided he has some free time and he wants to play again. So he bought a used Super Amati drum kit, that looks not that bad. In couple of days it will arrive to his place.

I'm looking for amati drum key and just couldn't miss this forum and this topic. And you guys maybe will be interested in buy some drums from Ukraine. As used drums are nothing like 1800 euros for set. This is crazy for sure. We have in Ukraine slando.com and you can type "amati" and find quite a lot of drums in every condition and cymbals as well.

http://zolochev.lv.slando.ua/obyavlenie/udarnaya-ustanovka-amati-ID6y8A7.html#6f9c9fb0c5 - 100 EUR for set (no cymbals, no plastics)

http://lugansk.lug.slando.ua/obyavlenie/udarnaya-ustanovka-amati-europe-ID6AEzt.html#f19e575898 - 550 EUR for set of 100500 drums...

Sure there is a delivery issue, but maybe it will worth it.

As pointed, there are indeed a lot of old drums in Ukraine but it's sad that often they are remastered by bad hands without real understanding.

Some of domestic guys have no idea what kind and what mark of drums they have.

In offered adverts you can read "Chech Amati" but really we see german Tacton on pics, or strange mix from different drums, or miserable semi-disassembled Latvian parallel "RMIF" called "unknown"...

But sometimes you suddenly can find an extremely rarest mint drum with funny price... :)

I'm really enjoying this post! It's a breath of fresh air to see drums from that part of the world. There have been a few good posts about German drums and French hardware recently, but I'd never seen or heard of Amati. Too cool! The Belgian kit in the pics gallery is the cat's meow, though!

In 1975,I went to Maury Lipshon (SP?) drum shop in Chicago...and they had 2 or 3 Amati drum sets for sale for what I recall was around $300-350 for a 5 piece set...

I didn't buy one..but looking back...wish I would have...for the oddity factor...

That's alright -- alu-foil stickers are original. It's 80's version drums with multilayer shells.

There were a diecast logo for that version placed on double tom-mount --- missing on this kit.
