Amati - Czechoslovakian drums

From teverson-sr

Jon Petersen-is that snare conical?The picture looks 14" top-13" bottom.That's a nice drum-good work!

No, picture just distorted through using wideangle lens....

Thanks!

The locknuts on the rods are a nice touch, and yes, it was a nice drum - the Amati kettle was absolutely OK.

How cool is this thread!

Bowing

Yeah, keep talking up these kits that most of us have never heard of. Those Amati's look far to cool...

beautiful find, about 20 Euros...

In very nice condition, inside perfect, everything is original...

It's a little faded outside , but I will make it shine...

Also the lugs. Just to find some time, maybe these days around holy days.

I think its 16'' x 16'' , from 60s as I saw on forum....

More pictures will come....

Well, I can think of two reasons it's not big enough... maybe those are boomy, so you can really tension up the muffler (ahem...)

Or, more likely: If your cars steering wheel ever goes missing, you have a spare.

Laughing H It is actual 1 5/8" in diameter, that tone control knob,I don't think this is much bigger than on vintage Gretsch toms

BTW Marko,if you want to put new Remo heads, they wont fit in those hoops

Cool drum, Marko, congratulations on getting it with both hoops. Like Dule said, modern heads don't fit them, but at least the drum has been kept round!

You have to get some modern 8 hole 16" hoops, or some 70s-80s Amati hoops - wich look exactly the same, they're just a few mms bigger DOH

Oh yeah and it IS beech.

Thanks for sharing this fantastic clip! One drummer was playing what looks like a standard 4 or 5 piece kit, but what was the other drummer playing? Some sort of concert tom rig? Those guys played off and with each other really well!
