Rarity & Value of a Trixon kit

Thanks for the words of encouragement and the suggestions for locating parts. The original claws and T rods for the reso side of the bass drum are still there so all I have do to is locate the hoop. I was wondering, can you get custom wrap from JamminSam or Precision? Judging by the rarity of the color I may have a hard time finding a hoop with original wrap.

In a case like that,I put the original on as the front hoop, and put a solid black hoop in back................

Double silver sparkle inlayed hoops might look cool too......or maybe black oyster? Maybe chrome? Something similar to the colors in the drum so it matches. Nothin bugs me like non inlayed hoops on vintage drums....especially when only one of them doesn't match. Just a suggestion/opinion.

Hold onto the original hoop incase you sell em. That finish is SUPER cool!

The only custom wrap I see is custom coloured sparkles and pearls. You can get patterned sparkles, but I don't remember who sells it. Jammin' Sam sells only what DelMar can sell them. What you have is very, very cool and extremely rare, especially in North America.

I fired off an email to Ingo yesterday looking for some info on this kit. Hopefully, he will be able to hook me up with the necessary hardware, etc.. to complete it. From the responses I have recieved it seems the wrap is pretty rare. Maybe Ingo can shed some light on it.

Hi Deano..

firstly what a bargain you got mate and many congrats...i would say tx6 blue stripes that has faded over the years and yes 66-67 as it has the square lugs with the white plastic..But it could be the tx7 grey stripe..both wraps are quite rare as are all the trixon stripe wraps!!

Ingo owns the 63/64 blue stripes with the black plastic and is definately the person to help you attain any spare parts that you require!

Always give me a shout if you need anything and if i can help i will mate !

Hi Diamond, thanks for the welcome. Trixon drums are truly something special as are all vintage drums. I'm pretty excited to get my hands on them. This time next week I should be drooling over them in my drum room. For the time being I have some vintage Premier hardware that I can use with the kit, but I will be on the lookout for the period correct items.

Thanks a lot for the offer to help me out. I'm sure there are many more Trixon items available in your area than mine (great white north).

That is one impressive list of Trixon kits you have.

the trixon site has seat covers and some other parts.the finish was probably the TX6 blue stripe faded to grey, very nicely.

no. there was a TX7 Grey Stripe as well, does it show any signs of fading? the grey has more contrast and this seems from the photographs to be that way.-----probably not as common as the blue but definitely out there. One thing bears mentioning about this kit----it has the bass mounted cymbal arm still; an unusual feature because I think most of them ended up as rottiserie skewers.now.... they are not everyones cup of tea??------so my starting BID is 8 T-Rods and claws for it. no you say? o.k. then, 20 T-Rods and claws...........48 T-Rods and claws, 150 T-rods and claws: that's my final offer...................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................1000 T-rods and claws?
