Are these hi-hats 60s vintage?

I just bought a pair of Zildjian 60s vintage hi-hats (or so advertised) because I love that older washy sound that Ringo has. The sound file that the seller put up on eBay for these sounds almost exact to what Ringo's hats sounded like. However, the stamps on them are somewhat faded and I'm afraid that I may have been misled. One cymbal's stamp looks 60s, but I can't tell if it has the three dots on the logo. The other looks awfully close to a 70s thin stamp, and I can't be for certain if there are three dots or not. Maybe it's late 50s/early 60s?

So...I asked the seller about it and this was his reply: "Yes these were both made in the 60s, they are matching earlier 60s stamps, they are bigger than the 70s stamp." Does that make sense?

I do have to say, though...the photos gave me pause and I had to look VERY, VERY hard to really figure it out. The stamps are poorly stamped, very light. I can see why one would think them '70's cymbals.

But I think they are late 60's....

Have you rec'd them ? How do they sound ? [/COLOR]

No, I'll get them in a few days. I bought them before I knew what to look for as far as stamps go. I don't know if they're lightly stamped or just worn down. He included a sound file of these cymbals on the page (http://www.gerryporter.com/soundfiles/Zil60sThinHats14.mp3), and I admit they have that light wash sound of the 50s/60s. You know Gerry? Seems like a legit guy as far as internet acquaintances go...but you never know in cyberland. The price was a little steeper than I wanted, but I figured these hats are rather unique nowadays and have that great oldies sound, so they're worth it. I had bought some custom A 14" hats, but I prefer the vintage sound.

These are at least 1960's vintage, but definitely not 1950's.

But if Gerry says they're '60's, then he's probably correct.

The hammering is on the top, and they have a newer lathing style. Both are indicative of 1960's or later. I couldn't tell directly from those trademarks because they weren't impressed very well.

As far as I have, I feel the wights are app. below range.

Trans 6-700g ish

50's 600g -700g ish

60's 800g-900g ish

70's 1000g-1300g ish

Modern K light 1000g - 1300g
