Flat out STUNNING, Mike! Just when I mistakenly believe that you can't match or exceed the last piece of yours that I've seen you do so with no problem whatsoever. THANKS for sharing the pic! Was this particular piece in the condition it's currently in or was there a restoration effort involved? Just wondering.

Thanks Oldschool!

I have done nothing to the drum, but the owner from whom I got the drum did have the gold replated. It is definitely old school though!

Super duper cool Mike! Nice grab.........

I had a chance to buy one of these in Chicago in 1988 for $400!

Saw it in person and everything........

I called a so called "vintage drum expert" on the phone from the guy's place that had it,and so called "expert" said he didn't think it was worth that,so I passed!

It's now in England in a display case!

Of course the plating wasn't as nice as Mikes, but it was still nice!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

A beauty Mike - one of my favorites. Stunning! The "mojo" (history and vibe etc.) is second to none in my books.

You have a real treasure there. Congratulations brother-in-drums.

A true specimen of drumming history. I have said for a long time why do manufacturers not make what people want. Chevy could make tons of money if they made the 67 Camaro again. For all of us too young for the original or those older that did go through that time and now have the money to own that car. That was an example. Gretsch could make that drum again is my point. A classic is classic because it was so good. That may be one of the classiest looking snare drums I have ever seen.
