MIJ snare strainers

Rod, would you mind taking the cover off and shooting it nekkid? I have one of those in pieces and need to see how it goes back together. If it is Bolero, it is indeed an early one as Star would be the owner of record for the Bolero name. It is not a stencil, rather a spec line, sort of like the Star and Drum Mate offerings later in the production cycle.

Hey Jonni,

I have this snare currently apart, so the strainer is not on the shell at the moment...I will take a shot of it for you and post it to this thread....

Cheers

Grantro, would you mind posting a pic of the badge on that Bollero snare? I'd like to see it. I didn't think Star ever used those mini Sound King lugs. I'm wondering if Bollero might be one of the names that was used by Pearl and Star.

I will start another thread and post pics of this snare....I don't want to hijack this thread....

Cheers

Not hijacking, this is exactly the place. We are looking for this info in this thread.

They are around, just not many of them made it as it is a somewhat "weak" system.

Just saw this thread! I've got a '61-'62 Star snare drum, that is a Slingerland RK clone, complete with 3-point strainer and butt. I'm currently at work, but will post the original pictures when I get home.
