Star Model 940 Super Strainer and 941 Fast Tension Butt Plate-2 examples.
COS Model 8354 8 lug Sonor Teardrop style lug Star designation Type "G", #923 snare lug, round blue badge "Made In Japan", no other name badge, no indication of year, spans approx 6 year models in this configuration.
Blue Sparkle Majestic, likely 1968 year model, 9 ply shell, no re-rings, 8 Slingerland Sound King style lugs, Star designation Type "A", #921 snare lug.
The 4 point strainer, above, in the first set of pictures, was last seen cataloged in the 1966 catalog. It is a an exact copy of a late 50s-early 60s Rogers student type snare strainer. Likely was discontinued because the throw arm is rather thin and easily bent. That said, it has a certain mojo that I like, I have 2 examples of this strainer, both work perfectly, holding tension as if it's life depended on it, although they are scratched pretty badly by who knows what.
