Hey Y'all, I got my acro shell back today from the chrome shop.

So how much did it cost you to chrome the shell? I've heard it's fairly pricey. BTW, that drum is going to look sweet!

It cost $125 plus shipping both ways. I spent $150 on the brass rims, brass tube lugs, and engraved strainer.I figure i'll have about $350 in it when Im done with new heads. A friend of mine gave me a brand new in the package muffler, Im putting a evans batter head and ludwig clear reso head.

I found this drum in a pawn shop along with a blackrolite. The wanted $79 for the blakcro and threw in this one for free. So I feel like I have nothing in the original investment. It will be the coolest looking one I have when im done and probably the best sounding. I am still debating on the snare wires........

They make brass wires also.

I was going to finish this this morn and use chrome tension rods till my brass ones come in. I have a b/o badge and a keystone badge. The b/o is brandnew and the keystone is old and slightly scratched up. The badge that came off of it was a b/o and was really nasty lookin. I dont want to misrepresent this drum, but I really want everything to be perfect. I went to lowes and bought new stainless steel 6-32 screws, nuts and washers for the butt plate. Got new evans heads ready to go on. Brand new muffler ready. I decided to order a Brass Keyston Restoration chicago badge. Ill just have to wait a few more days till completion..:(:(

Well hell!!! The vent hole on a b/o shell is about 1//4" higher on the shell than the keyston badge shell. The keystone badge would be a little too high on this shell. I just happen to have a brand new b/o badge. HmmmmBump
