The Ugliest Acrolite Metamorphosis

Loading...

It was a fun project, but it involved a bunch of part ordering and shipping the shell back nd forth. I was glad to find this poor orphan shell to use to parts I had just laying around. Not only did I put the orphan acrolite together, I finished a few other projects I had started and never finished. I have a supra shell I bought for $15 a while back. It came with the rims, but one od the strain was broke and it was missing the rod. I just finished putting it together. I bought a very old ludwig snare case off of goodwill online. They had it listed as a Ludwig hat box. All it needed was a new leather strap and the handle rwrapped with leather.

Great Poppy,

It really is so much fun doin this.

We men just love shiny stuff and glossy paint, and neat metal parts. And puttin it together. Like Cars,......and drums (easier smaller).

Different colors, metal plating choices.

I like it too.

That ugly duckling is now a SWAN.

Neat color/finish/and parts choices.

I know! I'm always telling my wife how much more the drum is worth than I gave for it, but I never sell anything! lol My drum collection is almost too big for one bedroom. I may have to knock out a wall soon. How do I explain that to her? LoLoLoLo The pic is just one wall. there's 2 more walls and a closet in that room!!!Laughing H
