The 65 badge should be Black and Brass. And if it were a 65 it should have a 1965 stamp in the bass drum. No dates were stamped in the 70's

Serial numbers were reset (start from 0) in 1970 with the introduction of the black and silver badge http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/drcjw/article_2_...

Those lugs on that drum go way back to the early 1950's. but the badge does look late 70's That's a Great save.
