In the video clip below, John Barbata, drumming for the 60's band The Turtles, has a closed hat setup on the front of his bass drum.
He also has a splash over a crash on a stand to his right. That small extension that allows for the splash is seen for sale on eBay from time to time.
Does anyone here know what he was using for the close hats arrangement? A portion looks like an 'L' arm you'd use with a knobby mount, but the vid isn't clear enough to see what he really has. The bass otherwise seems to be a Headiner layout with the tom mount just a bit further up toward the top than usual. I expect he ordered exactly what he wanted or had the dealer set it up for him.
Good showmanship and sense of the tune displayed too along with some creative stick twirling.
