Evidently I put my first posting in the wrong place so I'm trying this again. Thank you to those that directed me to the right place. Here's my dilema:
About 12 years ago I was given this set of drums by the original owner (unable to track him down now) and have had them in storage since then. I moved into a bigger house and have room to set them up. I am a guitar player first but have always loved the drums and have wanted to learn how to play beyond the little I know. The first thing I noticed was there was no snare so I set off to try to identify the set more closely iin order to find the snare that would have come with the kit. When I finaly found the one one I thought was it, it sold for $1,000.00 on ebay! No way I have that much to spend on a second instrument. Now I'm looking to see what it's worth in order to sell it and but a complete set with cymbals for my kids to learn on. Here's what I know about the kit and I have attached some pictures.
The paper labels inside the drums say "Holiday" model, Rogers, Dayton Ohio. The one picture blurred that I tried to take inside the bass. I don't have a key and didn't want to scratch the pegs using a wrench to open up the other drums. The interiors are painted a grey speckle.
Bass- 14 x 20 serial# 111218
tom- 12 x 8 #188288
tom- 13 x 9 #108152
floor tom- 16 x 16 #111526
Hi-hat 14" cymbals w/ no markings to know who made them but I believe it to be the original stand and pedal.
There is no kick pedal for the bass drum.
I believe the finish to be "Black Diamond Pearl"
Silver script rogers badge on all drums
Hoping pictures are clear enough to ID the hardware
none of the drum heads are original.
That's all I know about them. I sure would appreciate any help in identifying the manufacture date and value.
