TommyP ,I meant lurking as in "omnipresent". I gotta have some fun.....I will refer to you as "all-knowing" in future references. ;)

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

BBK!...

But of course!... I knew you were funnin'!... on the other hand, the only thing "all knowing" about me is that there isn't anything "all knowing" about me! LOL!!!!!!!! You slay me!!

Ploughman!...

Well, your Powertone trumps mine with regard to date as it's even earlier!... and it is STILL COB... which leads me back to again state that I don't think there IS a COS Powertone, or ever WAS... but I'd love to see/play one though!

TommyP, SUPER MODERATOR: Does the cape and red leotards help our hinder your mind blowing drum rolls using every drum in the kit? Just a little humor from a newbie. I certainly have gotten a fast education on Rogers drums since signing up a couple days ago and appreciate the input from everyboby involved. With guitar as my main instrument I'm so into this drum kit now that I might sell one of my vintage guitars out of my collection to fund the building of thr rest of the kit. I need a bass kick pedal, throne and a decent set of cymbals to round it out. Maybe I'll just sell off some of my woodworking tools to accomplish this. My kids are 3 (son) and 6 (daughter) so my wife freaked out when she found out I was letting then pound away on a vintage set.

Is there a place in the forum for buying, selling, trading pieces between members?

Thanks TommyP, I've been looking forward to your reply. Thanks for taking the time.

Any idea what the kit might be valued at as is?

Yep, in the For Sale and Wanted to Buy sections......

I have a few cymbals there for sale that might get you started.

Peace

Oh yeah, you have been looking for a value from the beginning so here is my guess at your value.

These drums on todays market... looking at ebay sets that sold and a few Craigslist sets... a reasonable start would be right around $1000.00

That said there are members who buy and sell everyday so hopefully one of them will jump in and let us know if that is close.

Even the very early metal Powertones with b&b lugs were brass (as well as the metal b&b lug Holidays). All metal PTs were brass until well into the Fullerton era and think they became Super10. At that point I know absolutely nothing about them. I just don't follow Rogers once they left Covington.

I gotta' say, the name of the thread was kind of misleading. I thought this was a post from a lonely guy, who was dating his drum kit. I was like, what the.........?

Happy Holiday (drum kit)! I hope you have a nice, long relationship.

I just recently sold a londoner without a snare for 1500.00 it was WMP and it was pretty much a solid 9out of ten... and i included the whole original hardware setup... so yours in the condition they are in I would say a realistic value is between750.00 and 900.00...

Note to AZbill- Very funny. It's a sexy kit , but I don't swing that way.

To MikeT- Thanks for the input. I think I'm going to hang on to it and look for the pieces I need to complete it. I'm going to buy a cheaper set for my kids to learn on before I let them at the Rogers kit.

I bought the same set in 1968! Bass drum was lost in a move to florida 20 years ago but the drums you have should be kept. they are strong and produce max sound pressure level even for a guitar player trying to play drums. Ha gotta love them drummers!!

Anyway keep them and you do not have to buy a classic snare to complete the set. Take care of those tubs they look great
