This is one MIJ kit that i feel was ahead of its time in the 60,s,with 8lug kick, snare,&floor, and they sound wonderful...Anyone know if cast hoops were made in Japan or were they bringing them in from somewhere else?..They,re quite heavy as well/

They could have been added later in an attempt to make them sound better...Other than that, I had no idea they had cast hoops.

I own a pair of 14" six-lug cast MIJ snare drum hoops.Tried to sell them on Ebay-no go.Most of these lost their ears long ago from over tightening. And the plating is sub-par.
