Hi
Anyone know anything about this cymbal? It sounds good as a high-hat top, but i have no idea how old it is, or what its worth!!

Wasn't this one of the lines that Paiste manufactured...50's? I'm sure someone will know for sure.
Zilko is mentioned on this list:
http://www.nf-drums.com/paiste_fanpage_paiste_timeline.htm
First in 1935-48 made in Estland (Estonia), and then as Zilko Standard made in Germany (1948-1960). There is also a Zilko Arbiter stamp. I've collected up some of the stamps hoping that some day I might flesh out the information.
I don't now how these relate to your stamp (and the example I've attached) which says Switzerland. The German fan site never mentions Switzerland origins. Neither does the usually helpful Paiste Only Wiki which has to entry at all:

I've got posting rights there so some day I'll add my images and whatever else I can come up with.
As to value, my guess would be $20-$40 as an orphan, but that's not based on solid data in the same way that most of my pricing estimates are. I'm extrapolating from a few sales of Ludwig Paiste and Standard which I've got tucked away in a corner of my Paiste sales database.
Hope this helps.
Thank you Zenstat for a good reply, lots of info!! I think I'll hold on to this one!
Paiste Zilkos are brass cymbals ~ probably made from 1947 - 1958
* I am very skeptical of that 1935 start date as on Paiste's official site they have 1947 as the date they started making two classes of cymbals (Stambul and Zilko)
From the old catalogs I have it looks like the Swiss factory only made Zilkos in 1957 and maybe part of 1958 so that's probably the age of OP's cymbal.
Zilko Standards were seemingly made from 1958 - 1963 and are NS12 cymbals.
It looks as though the first of them (from Switzerland in 1958) were just stamped Standard.
mrthbod, I'd be curious to know if your cymbal has the modern 1/2" hole size?
As for the Arbiter Zilkos - these might be rebranded Paiste Dixies (or perhaps leftover Zilko Standards) recycling the Zilko name. The Arbiter Zilkos are 1960s era circa 1962 to maybe 1968.
would also like the weight on that cymbal if possible OP
14" was the largest size a Zilko came in btw
