I am looking to replace my Hi Hats with Zildjian preferably vintage. Any suggestions on what to get?
I have seen these on e-bay for a reasonable price. Zildjian ZBT 14" Pair of Hi Hats Cymbals.
Any good?

No,not too good at all.............
I have a thinner 13" pair of top of the line A.Zildjians.............$150 plus ship,if you are interested.............
I'll have to look at the gram weights...........
ZBT are not good cymbals. They are harsh and unrefined. Paiste is the only company to work well with the B8-type alloys and make everything from semi-pro cymbals (Alpha- actually a VERY good cymbal that some pros use) to 2K2's.
Zildjian should stick to what they know- cast cymbals using a B20 alloy.
blairndrums proposed deal sounds pretty good to me (if I weren't a Paiste guy).
ZBT's are entry level and for the most part sound it. I did once own a pair of 13" ZBT's that actually sounded decent. I have yet to come across a set of
B8's that sounded good to me. . . .James
Really.....even 2002's?
ZBT's are GROSS.So are Sabian B8's.Paiste Alpha's are nicer.Or X20's.What are you replacing? No matter how refined your technique is,(IMHO)you just can't get that "hiss"or "chick"from either of these student lines.Of course,if you only intend to beat the snot out of them......Maybe a set of those SR's from Sabian-recycled cymbal metal.Strange "gritty"finish.
I stripped the urethane off a pair of Camber hi-hats and they sounded like B8's-for whatever that's worth.
A good ride and hi-hats are critical components to a pro set. You'll just be aggrivated without them.I've bought used Zildjian A New Beat's for $125.Industry standard.
What are you replacing?
I am not replacing I am adding. I have a 14" Ludwig Standard Paiste I bought in 1969. But just the top, the bottom is a 14" Marveltone that I got with it.
I intend on using these as a static set mounted to my right when playing double base.
As I said I would like Zildjain vintage as the rest of my good cymbals are 60's A's
I just saw these and had to ask.
What would you recomend I look for playing Rock Blues?

After having seen the coments of others, you no doubt are now aware that ZBT's are not cast like good quality B20 alloy cymbals, but are cut from sheets of cheaper B8 alloy. Although none of the posters, including me, has much to say that is positive about ZBT's, there are those, especially some younger rock drummers, who like the sound and appreciate the lower retail price. Unlike some, I actually purchased a ZBT cymbal pack for my son's first set around eleven years ago. It included 13" hats, a 14" crash, and an 18" ride. It was immediately clear that they were mediocre at best and were replaced with good quality vintage '60s A's within a year. Now he's 22, about to graduate from a music conservatory, and those ZBT's are a distant memory.
Out of curiousity, since you indicated a preference for vintage Zildjians, what peaked your interest in these ZBTs? Besides being poor cymbals in general, they are decidedly not vintage. I think they were a fairly new product line when I purchased the pack lin 2000.
I saw them on e-bay and they were cheap so I had to ask here about them.
I should start a differant post I suppose.
