Zildjian cymbals question

Loading...

I still own my original Zildjian cymbals from 1966, they were old when I bought them. They both are 20 inch medium rides with six factory rivet holes in each one of them. I would never part with them because of their unique and great sound they produce, ...... but I am curious, are these vintage cymbals collector items and do they have tremendous value ?

Can you still get Zildjian cymbals with the rivet holes ?

Are they collectible? Yes.

Do they hold "tremendous value"? Assuming they're in decent shape, they've got some value. Exactly how much depends on a bunch of things. Could range anywhere from $100+ to many times that.

Can you still buy cymbals with rivets? Yes. You can also send cymbals to Zildjian and Sabian for drilling and rivet installation.

To me when it comes to putting a value on vintage cymbals the sound is the main thing then what stamp is on the cymbal, and the condition any cracks, chips ete to the cymbal, old zildjians can bring alot of money i have paid alot for a old 50s zild. ride-i won't say--but the sound is the best ever ...Mikey

Cant put a price on that perfect sound Mikey!

I have sold a few cymbals, including my 20" K custom medium ride, which i bought new then poured ketchup all over and buried in the backyard for a bit. it was a gorgeous sounding ride and i regret selling it and would pay a s***load to have back.
