Just took a chance on a mint Zildjian A 20" Heavy ride.....heavy it is at 2865 grams. I'll probably sell it on since it's not at all crashable and the tone is pretty different from what I'm used to. It has wash plus a ringing undertone that I wasn't expecting. EBAY bound.

I got an 18 from the same era, you really gotta smack these heavy`s, your not really gonna hear much from it before you hit it again if you got a kickass metal bass player going. It`s about the only band application for these, ......hear it over that guy.
Probably why they are much less sought after too.
It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

I have a really heavy 60's 20" ride too. Great bell and tons of wash. Bell and ping sound a lot like my 70's 21" Rock 21. The Rock 21 has a lot less wash. The 20" gets a moongel most times to mute the ringing. Make a great gong with mallets! ;)
Glenn.

There a guy lathing them and turning them into super cymbals
April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp
once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
