These are very early Paiste's from the 50's. Would love to see a pic. They are quite rare and usually only found in Europe. Value would probably be fairly high and likely only a collector would be interested. I believe they are NS12 alloy...but again, would love to see pics!!!

Here are the 12" zilco hi hat cymabls made in switzerland , that came to me from my customer that won my cymbal polishing contest . i would like to get as much info on these cymbals so that i can tell him the history of these cymbals .

i'm thinking they are from 1956 , collector and value of these cymbals unknown to me . The top cymbal weighs in at 550 grams and the bottom 570 .

Wowie! Was I confused there for a minute.

The Zilko is a Paiste Cymbal and made in Switzterland as you say. The title of the thread got me way confused.

Paiste made 2 lines, the Zilko and the Zilket in the 50's. The Zilko being the higher quality line and the Zilket being a student line. I do have a catalog from Arbiter which shows these two lines which I will post the appropriate page. I believe Paiste marketed them through various other distributors as well and this is the first evidence I have seen.

These are extraordinary cymbals actually because they do confirm that Paiste was marketing cymbals in North America (Canada at least) in the 50's.

The cymbals look like they might be B20 and not NS12 as I thought they might be. I believe they are quite valuable due to age an historical significance. Especially valuable to a collector.

for all that great info , very cool to hear . And the link to canada dates it 1956 when Efkay first started out in biz , efkay is still in biz today that i know for sure they are my tama suppliers . I think that my customer will be happy to hear all this . The cymbals were in horride condition and that is why i chose them as the winner of my cymbal polishing contest here is the results .
