Zicko's Value Inquiry Last viewed: 6 hours ago

Loading...

I'm looking at a Zicko's kit to buy, and have some questions about the value. It's a 22/13/16 with some type of Slingerland snare. The bass drum has some issues. It has a repaired crack, is missing spurs, missing tom mounts, and is also missing a tension rod and clip/retainer. The toms look good and complete.

What is the approximate value of this kit? And what might the replacement parts cost? Also, what would the depth of the bass drum be? I have tried to ask the seller, but you know how that goes. It looks deep in the pictures he sent, but he said it is a 70's kit, so I would think 14x22. Thanks in advance for the info.

Well, if that floor tom is a 16 X 16, then the bass drum is deeper than that. I'd say 22 X 16 ...or even 18

No guess as to what they are worth.

No idea what they are worth but I'm guessing you can get them cheap. I'll never tell why lol

The bass drum looks like a floor tom. Zickos used to have those oversized drums.

Zickos unfortunately don't have much of a resale vintage value, especially if there are mods or damage.

Hmm... I had some other pictures that show the holes for the tom mounts on the bass drum, as well as the spur mounts. So it's definitely a bass drum.

No guesses on value?

I sold a 8x12,9x13,16x16,14x22 Fibes Smoke Crystalite set to Spain for $800.00 a couple of years ago...I dont know if Zickos can be compared value wise to Fibes but Id say that they should be around the same area...A 14,14,18 22 was put up for sale around my area last year for $350 and It sold in a second even when it had a lot of issues like the one you are looking at...My ball park will be between $400.00- $500.00 because of the missing parts...Those are very neat drums with a lot of history and they sound great! if you can have'em cheap Id go for it...

Thanks, that's just the info I was looking for. After considering it more, I think I'll pass. What I really want is a smoke Vistalite kit anyway.

The bass drum could be one of two size's Zicko's made a 18x22 or 20x22 .Zicko's used Camco bass drum legs but the 70"s Ludwig leg will work. But when it comes to the tom mounts Zicko's used Zicko's made one's these are VERY hard to fine..The mounts on the bass drum and tom were the same about 3/4" hole in center of mount with 4 mounting screws.Again if the tom arm is missing that would be a VERy hard part to fine..Are you sure the drums had Zicko's mounts? Sometimes guys would order the drums with out the tom mounts and used Ludwig,Rogers, and also Slingerland...On the tension rods they are 1/4 20 thread not 12/24 threads..You can fine these on Ebay the T-rods and the claw for about 5.00....With all of this said i would offer no more that 350.00 for the set...Mikey

Do you have a pic of the tom mount that goes on the drum? I think I have 2 of them!

Also,if memory serves,I have 1/2 of a tom arm>(It's a male/female setup with rachets)

The tom mounts look like Slingerland's type but the hole spacing is bigger..Yes the tom mount tube's are male/female rachets ended again these look like somewhat 60's Sonor but both tubes are solid...Mikey
