yeah so i figured out that resizer thing and put up some more pics. i could be wrong but isnt the design over the text really close to an old zildjian design? i dont know squat about it. i just know what my ears like. could this be an early zildjian? feng to me just sounds so chinese. either way its cool to once again stumble on something the authorities on vintage cymbals (symbols) arent aware of. just for ha ha,s i posted a couple pics of hi hat stand and clutch. it has a really cool design so u can adjust the tension of the top hat just by spinning the top of the clutch without having to grab the nut underneath. looks original. only problem with it is the plastic piece that holds the bottom hat is done bussed.any idea of its age? i have and old slingy 20 16 12 mixed be bop kit from the 50,s and 60,s that i thought it may go well with. jaye i already bought them and would be interested in sharing with you. but i kind of want to try to find out what i have before i make any deals. i will however hold it exclusively for you. thanks guys!
z.fengdjian & cie constantinople???
Pics are way small
i just resized those pics kevins. heres the hat stand that came with them as well.
Cool !!.........
I have a Dynamo stand like that, when I spin the clutch, the whole hexagonal pull rod spins.....
That looks like a Slingy wing screw on your clutch, I wonder why mine won't do that...dang
yeah i liked it too. u still have to disengage the wing nut to change tension. it works because the bottom of the clutch is matched to the hex rod. whereas the the top of the clutch is just a round hole that can spin freely on the rod. thats what she said..... is this 50,s era? thanks!
The Dynamo came in around '69 by the Cook book.
Wow, mine does that too, now that I loosened the wing, Thanks John !!.... Cool
anything i can do to help! ha ha ha. so yeah i think im keeping this one. someday i will stumble on the kick pedal and match it w my slingy bop kit. thats after its restored. i think i found a repro plastic bottom hat holder that will work. ever replaced one?
Not yet, mine just slides off.....
hey kevins, i was just looking at the for sale section and saw a slingy hat stand you have for sale. it looks very similar to mine except it appears that yours is slightly different. the pics aren't too detailed but the legs on yours look to be a hollow tube steel while mine are solid and not round. i also have adjustable "spurs" on the bottom of the legs just like on a kick drum. everything else looks the same. back to the reason for this post. does anyone know anything about this weird cymbal? thanks!,ryan
Jaye i already bought them and would be interested in sharing with you. but i kind of want to try to find out what i have before i make any deals. i will however hold it exclusively for you. thanks guys!
[COLOR="DarkRed"]Understood....just keep me in mind. Man, that's an obscure trademark; I would want it just for it's quirkiness...not because I think it of significance or great value.....but best of luck in trying to find out something about 'em.
Besides Drumaholic...the only other person I could think of who may know something would be John Aldridge at Not So Modern Drummer magazine...but I am not sure how you'd get in touch w/ him...maybe do a search (?)
