Just to allude back to the Sydney Drum Expo, there was a girl there hand-painting bass drum heads. She was pretty good too! The wmp Dandy kit in my post earlier has one of them on.

I recently reconnected with a cousin who can airbrush like I have never seen before. Motorcycles - golf carts - boats ect. So what about and old set of drums in need of a restore ? What would u have him paint ? Just looking for some ideas ?
Dia de los muertos theme!

An airbrush painted kit would be cool but a lot of work. Think custom painted reso bass drum heads would have best chance of making money.
Would like something with "Big Daddy" Roth inspired look for the "newer kits" :-).

I`m thinking less is more...Maybe candy cane striping, plaid, family crest, etc...Something along that line anyway!!
Cheers
Maybe custom bass drum heads? I would love a WWII pinup style bass drum head.
A lot of other great ideas here also including the Duco finishes and so forth.
Since I'm a huge Game of Thrones fan, I'd go with dragons...

Sure they're showing up everywhere on cars, vans, RV's, and bikes, but they look great airbrushed.
