your help with a drum issue.

Loading...

I recently bought a wrap't Gretsch shell 16x16 floor tom .

I bought it off of ebay . It was just a shell ,no lugs no nothing.

But it did have two USA square badges. So at the time I'm thinking,Coffee Break2

I had all the extra parts and could build it up again.

When it came in everything looks good untill I start to put parts on,

it was then I discovered it had been drilled for the small tom lugs instead of the large

floor tom are bass lugs that I've always seen on square badge series drums.

I have never seen small lugs on a 16x16 USA Gretsch...Eye Ball

Looking at drum I noticed it is very thin maybe like a 3 ply with the added wrap..

The Gretsch sticker reads( Model GMS 4422 )~~~~ ( Serial PR 48913 )

And designed for Gretsch G9025, hinged tom mount brackets 12.7mm (1/2").

My queston is this! Is this a top of the line Gretsch USA drum shell ?

are is it a Renown, Cat, are blackhawk searies shell...

I paid for what I thought was a top of the line Gretsch,

but those small lugs really put me in doubt..

I would be very grateful to you for your help and advice...Thank you for any help.

My early 70's 16 x 16 (mod # 4418) has the big lugs. Would tube-lugs have a shorter foot-print? I'm probably not helping.....
