This was advertised as a 4x13 on GC used.
Nope, 5x14 acro.
What year do you think this was made?
SN: 3116973
Also which muffler goes on this one?
Looking for a correct muffler to buy.

The badges with rounded edges are from the later 1970's. So I'd say 78-79. This type of internal tone control would have been used.
My guess is '82-'84 due to the serial number and black outline around the serial number.
An '84 Ludwig catalog shows that type of badge. I don't believe the '82 catalog does.
But who knows with Ludwig.
The badge is from the 80's, but it doesn't have the powder coating they started to use. It has that later 70's - early 80's look.

Oh dear that is a thick thread! We all need to bookmark that one!
I have been to that drum shop and have met that guy - though I never knew him as ludwigvondrumcrazy at that time. I recall discussing Flitz with him and yes, he is THE drum restorer for our mutual friend, the shop owner. His work is impeccable.
If you're going to GC check out the new hammered Acrolite. I guess it needed to be drier.

... and two pieces of Moon Gel. Just let that drum breath! It begs to have some of it's overtones be free.
