BTW, will I go to purgatory for wrapping a previously unwrapped kit that has been fairly butchered?

Funny thread, but not fun to have people butcher nice old drums! I just filled 20 extra holes in a slingy bass drum. It looked real sad when i got it. Had 10 extra holes from some Rogers swivo spurs, 4 from a ludwig hot dog tom mount, 2 from a second after marked tom holder and another 4 from...well I dont even know...probably just for the heck of it.
Leave the drums alone people. Just say no to drilling holes!

NO to both of you!!! That makes perfect sense,as I stated to take good wrap, and strip it to match a kit you have NOT COOL!, if the wrap is fried of course re wrap it But not good wrap on a single that you have, trade it. sell it, someone out there is looking for that drum!! this is my response previously!!!
Just a few days ago,i was prepared to do a massive trade for a blk oyster WFL 22,13,16 w/COB snare, and was heartbroken at the 9 extra holes i found!!!! NINE!!! And a busted/or/cracked bass drum hoop too (assuming all the tape i saw wrapped around one of the hoops was a band aid,HA!) And a half hearted attempt at robbing the badge off the kick drum too...anyway the crusader in me wanted to trade still and fix all the swiss cheese and damage, but i was simply NOT prepared to give away too many pieces, (3)snare drums/(4)parts/(2)shells/(2)full kits(good ones) plus some drum doctor work, for the three piece WFL kit (the COB snare was counted out last minute....DAMN) or i totally would have done the deal extra holes/dents/ding repairs and all.Im also sure my new friend was not responcable for this drum horror,as he is a great guy and a true vintage drum lover like the rest of us.....oh well...next time,:o untill then,Coffee Break2
Wait 'til you guys see what I am doing with a set of '66 Luddies in black oyster..... ExcitedJumping2Eye BallEye BallMind Blowi
Look at the bright side. Every time someone drills a hole in a fine vintage drum the value of YOUR stock mint condition drum goes up in the collector’s world. So, ...oh this is gonna be Baaad...do I dare???... “Drill Baby, Drill”.
