Howdy,I have a steel 14" by 5" Yamaha snare that i am trying to find the age of.The serial number on the badge is 1917,and although I have found a few sites that "try" to explain the numbering codes used by Yamaha it appears all Greek to me.Any help at all is greatly appreciated! Cheers!

Post a few pictures of it (lugs, throw, butt, badge). I've found serial numbers are pretty useless, most companies don't keep accurate records.

Here are some pics of my Yamy snare,hope this helps in determining it's age.
By the way it has a double throw off.
