Yamaha snare

Loading...

Hey there,

Well I have a snare that is not really a vintage snare, I think is from the 90' maybe, but I can not identify it, so maybe you can help me.

So it is a 14"x8" Yamaha snare.

The model number is SD680SC, the serial number is NI-0202

The material is wood, with a black wrap.

It has 8 lugs.

I hope the pictures will help a bit.

Thank you and,

Best regards,

Juzso

(The die cast hoop, I bought earlier)

I know this post is a little old, but I'm Googling to see if I can find parts for a similar drum.

The badge and those black snare guides (the part I need, anyone?) make it look like a Yamaha Recording Custom from the late 1980s or early 1990s. These are birch shell drums produced since the 1970s. I have owned two of them, both mid-80s models. Mine had different lugs, and a different snare strainer that adjusted on both sides of the drum. Also, mine was lacquered.

There's enough difference for me to pause. However, I'm sure you can identify it by calling Yamaha directly. Give the badge number to Greg Crane in their support division. He is really helpful.

Good luck!
