There seems to be two different types of Yamaha Oak Custom badges. Is there any difference in the drums between these two badges?

Hi Rick.
There were indeed 2 badges (actually more but those were, limited/signature models)
The first gold badge ran from early 00's up until 2005. The later silver were released up to their discontinuation before the split of Sakae in 2013.
The differences can be found in the different finishes and the different size options that were offered (in the gold badge era you could buy 13 & 15 & 16x14 floor toms for instance).
