I love the Yamaha snares. Having owned most of the ones that have been made (including hte rare bamboo 6,5 deep model) this is my main snare. Based on the snares from the old days (thin shell, reinforcement rings) but with a modern twist (13'' shell, wood hoops)

Most versatile snare I have ever played.
The Maple snares are imho the best snares made, wether its the original gold lugged model, the Absolute model (with and without die-cast hoops) the Sensative model or the signature models.
They always deliver and yes they are the top of the line at Yamaha. Great snare you got there.
