Yamaha Drums Owned By Bruno Carr?

Loading...

Hello everyone,

I recently accquired some old Yamaha concert toms that appear to have been owned by Bruno Carr the known jazz/r and b drummer.

All the toms have " Bruno Carr 83" etched on the inside of the shells. They also have his initials "BC" written with a marker on the inside.

My question is HOW, can I find out if these were really his?

I'd like to sell them and want to make sure I don't look foolish telling people

that these MAY have been owned by him.

The color is a dark metallic green.

Model/serial #'s are- ET 912G HP, ET913G HX, ET914G HY and ET915G HX.

Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Please check out the picture I attached and if you need more information, please ask.

Jeff

Don't laugh- I could not find a wikipedia page to confirm whether or not he's still alive. Can't say I know who he is, but he does return results on google. That being said, I did get a birthdate with no death date. If he's still alive, then you have a LOT more options in finding out whether or not he owned those drums.

Look for pictures, videos, and the like to help confirm whether or not he played drums like he has. If he's alive, try and contact him or his management. It's not nearly as hard as it would seem, and I have even confirmed former ownership of peoples' stuff who were pretty famous (will not name names). Believe me when I say this- I have confirmed and denied former ownership of quite a few guitars this way.

Good luck, and now I need to dig into some Bruno Carr...

Yeah- I'm THAT guy!!!

Thanks Bunnyman,

I think he is still alive. I googled him tons of different ways and found some

recent videos of him. He played with Chick Corea, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Herbie Mann and many many more...

I do find it strange that there isn't any information about him on Wikipedia.

Thanks for looking and I hope I find some more info on him.

I played with Bruno from 1982-1988, and I can testify that they look right ;) He never had bottom heads, and the color is correct.

Bruno died of lung cancer in 1993 (never smoked a day in his life) He was a bright star in the denver jazz scene in the 80's. Everybody here still remembers him.

Did you ever sell them?

cheers,

-eric moon
