First off, Welcome! to the forum. Second, how about posting some pictures of the set, the badges and anything else. Normally, the "BD" in Yamaha serials means Bass Drum. Can you see if the rest of the badges have different numbers and/or letters?

Your picture is only of a piece of the drum. You didn't include any lugs or mounts or much of anything else. It's hard to tell if they are the Liquid Yellow or the Sunset Brown or the Real Wood finish.

But, what I can tell is they are the 3000G shells.

1980-82 Yamaha

Bass Drums

BD-322G

BD-320G

Floor Toms

FT-316G

FT-314G

Tom Toms

TT-313G

TT-312G

Snares ... etc etc etc

You get the point.

This was the lowest line they made at that particular point of manufacturing. I honestly do not know if these were ever offered in the States. I do know they were offered overseas. They were (I think) Philippine Mahogany. At that time, Yamaha was adding some Agathis and Camellia to the higher end drums, but these were the lowest end. Therefore, I believe they were just the one type of wood.

Dear mcjnic,

thank you for your reply!!

I attach a more general vier of the captioned bass drum.

Yes, you are right about the place i bought them..in Athens, Greece.

Could it be possible to find the brochure or a list from Yamaha, with the 3000G series listed in?

Thank you

Ioannis

Well, let's see some other stuff for more of a fair shake at getting you more info. I would like to see the drums set up. Also, could you put up some interior shots, without the heads? Looking at the shell layup will give us a better idea of the woods used.

Here's a page out of the Yamaha cat from 1982 where it shows some of the 3000G sets. If you need more, I have the entire cat. The color is Liquid Yellow.
