Were the interiors of the shells grey that far back, if not, were they still a birch shell?
Yamaha 67-69
Cannot recall the timber used.. but the 60's shells were not painted inside..
Cheers

Thx John...good to know, but I hope someone here is old enough to remember if it is birch or beech?...w
Andrew, (Fayray)... will probably have a handle on this... He has done beautiful restores on several of the 60's Yamaha kits..

The 60's kits had grey painted interiors as far as I can tell. My 69 D-18 and 69 DTT-225.
This 1967-1968 snare has it too:

The kits were Birch (im still finding out if they also had Mahogany) but defenitely not Beech.
