Yamaha 000 Series Birch Snare Drum 6.5x14

Hello,

I am brand new to the forum though I have been checking it out for the past few years now. Looking forward to connecting with fellow enthusiasts.

My question is this:

Does anyone know anything about the value/performance of Yamaha 000 series birch snare drums? Here is what I know so far:

1. This site shows them in the 1978 Yamaha Catalog.

2. Dual Strainer seems pretty awesome

3. 6 Ply Birch

4. No mention of them ANYWHERE else on the internet that I can find other than the one catalog scan on this site!

Were they made earlier than 1978? When were they discontinued? I assume the Recording Custom line replaced them. They look to be the top of the line snare of the era. Are they of high quality? Collectable? Ball Park $$?

I sold the exact drum for around $250 2 years ago. It was a very nice drum and quality.

The dual strainer was nice and functional.
