Hey,

Guitar Center Used drums has a set for sale for $999 in Fort Worth/Dallas. I drove there to pick up a set of Slingys and saw this set. Nice kit. As I recall, it was in good condition.

Good luck.

YIKES, sorry I missed out on Emmojo's kit. I am happy to piece together a set out of seperates though. I'll keep my fingers crossed. I called GC in Ft Worth and they described it as pretty beat, missing badges, etc. I will wait for something nicer. Let me know if you have any orphans. Thanks for your help!

That's very strange. I was there in January and saw this kit. It was not beat nor was it missing the badges. Something is fishy rotten in Denmark...or Dallas!!! (music cue) "DUM DUM DUMMMMMM"

Oh well.

Yeah, that is odd. I called them and was told bass hoops sanded bare, some drums had no badges and was in beat condition. I was then put on hold so long I hung up. What do you recall about them?.

I recall that there were B/O badges on all drums, mounts were in good shape, hoops looked good, edges were good, wrap was faded and not appealing to me (sorry), and it wasn't a Big Beat config so I passed. I went there to look at a Slingy kit (which I purchased) and two Luddy Standards (which I passed on due to damage and a sissy lookin' color). That's what I remember. Maybe it's a different kit...kinda hard to believe, though. Whatever they guy says is what I'd believe. He's lookin' at the thing. I will say they had two Luddy Standards in Ruby Strata and Blue Mist. The Ruby Strata was faded into pink and ... I ain't playin' no pink kit! So, I looked at the Blue Mist kit. The floor tom shell was cracked. Dang. Had to pass on both. The Slingy kit has turned out ok. Paid too much, but it's nice. They have more stuff than they list online. You might want to Q/A them. Also, there is another location in Dallas that has a couple of very nice Luddy kits. They seemed a bit too expensive at the time...so I passed. I believe they were in the 1600-1900 range. That's too much to pay for one of these. It's worth calling these guys. They manage to latch onto some nice vintage gear. Surprised the heck out of me when I was shopping for a kit. I've got several vintage kits now and am still shopping for more. "I'm sorry Jim, there's nothing more I can do for him. He's been bitten by the Vesuvian Percussion Beetle." Too much fun!!!

Thanks again for the heads up. GC is too hard to deal with over the phone, I can imagine the the headaches if there were a problem once I got them. I'll keep looking.
