WTB: '68 Pearl Challenger w/Galaxy wrap

Loading...

I'm looking to replace my Dad's old (and my first) drum kit for his 60th birthday. This particular model doesn't seem very common from what I can tell... Any leads, or even pictures, of a vintage pearl kit with this finish would be greatly appreciated.

1968 Challenger Outfit in Galaxy wrap

20", 12", 14"

With or without matching snare. They were definitely woods shells with re-rings, but the composite shells would work. Any old Pearls with this finish might be good too.

Thanks!

Great luck in hunting this kit down, especially in a specific color! I haven't seen it before, but that is a cool color! Hope you can find it. Try looking around your old hometown to see if it is still hangin' out in a garage, attic or basement.

Thanks for the suggestion! Yeah, Unfortunately I know what happened to the original one. It was in terrible shape last I saw it. Wrap was warped, resonant hoops and lugs were missing, one of the shells was cracked and collapsing. I sold it to a friend who moved out of state. I'm pretty sure it got turned into firewood...

I'm still looking though! I realize that the chances of finding something in that exact finish might be overreaching. In the end, I might gravitate towards a Yamaha or Star drums kit from the same era with a similar finish. I'll hold out hope anyway...

Yes, you have Jonni.

Bpd, are these them? PM me if interested. I have them in the sizes you are asking too, if this is the color.

You're a great guy as well Brandon. Anytime you're in the neighborhood again, give me a shout and I'll have a cold beer waiting again.

Hope your Dad enjoys the kit.
