Wrapping a Ludwig Pioneer Lacquer

I recently picked up a ludwig Pioneer with Lacquer finish and was wondering if I would have a problem with head fit if I re-wrapped it in Silver Sparkle. Anyone have any experience re-wrapping a Pioneer with Lacquer finish? Of course I would remove the finish first.
