When I got my Gold Strata Ludwig Standards they only had one kick drum inlay. I knew finding an inlay in that color would be impossible so I removed the one I had and scanned it. I then printed it out on good photo paper on the Xerox machine at work, making the pieces the right length for the seams to be hidden under the claws. Unless you get really close you can’t tell the difference.
There were also some extra holes in the floor tom so I found some donor pieces from under lugs that had similar “grain” to fill them in.
