Wrap A Chrome Snare?

I have had wrapped metal snare. Didn't seem to make any difference. Use the tape method and you can easily remove it if you want.

Rewrapped a chrome snare myself with the tape method. Someone had "polished" the shell with steel wool. Even rewrapped again later to match another set. Does not hurt the chrome. No noticeable difference in sound.

I agree with all the points mentioned. I won't wrap the Slingerland. Actually it does look nice with that wrap which is a recent re-wrap. I'll get a Majestic wood in the future. Thanks for the input!

Now how about a really cool paint job, like from an auto detail guy.

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

Yes tape method would be the go... Have not done it myself, but have done the opposite,,, Wrapped my Rosewood Tama with chrome wrap to match the sparkly kit. Now have found the correct SK COB snare so one day will remove that taped on wrap from the Tama and do a nice makeover job to the rosewood finish...

Cheers

John

It's your snare...if you want to wrap it...wrap it :) I wrapped a chrome pearl snare to match the rest of the kit and it turned out great. Main thing is if you are sure you want to keep the snare with this kit. If so, go for it!

Exactly my point, find a Pearl snare and wrap it, nobody will think too much of it but to wrap an original Slingerland snare just to match kit is a big NO no for me.

Keep fixing them up...
