I made that kit to please myself, I'm happy to see it pleases you too now. That little honey of a kit was my way of saving three orphans and turning them into a kit again. Those shells are aged African mahogany from the greatest era of American drum making. As the new owner will testify, they are a very warm and resonant set of drums. I'm proud of how they turned out. All the hardware I added was taken from a 60's set of ludwig Standards (or so the seller informed me). Those lugs never looked better on a set of drums!

It is my honor to know that the kit is being used on gigs to back a musician like David Bromburg. It takes the sting out of having to sell them, to know you are enjoying them, playing them in front of audiences and appreciating them for the one-of-a-kind beauties they are. It blows my mind every time I see them how great my (place-holder) paper-sticker badges look on the shells! Can't tell them apart visually from the real McCoy!

John you did a wonderful job on that set! I wish I had been the one to buy it! Congrats to the new owner. I'm glad he is enjoying them.

I like my own kits a lot - but this one is one of very few I´ve seen that I like so much better, I think I would swap all my 6 Premiers for it.

Very, very nice!
