David!...

Wow... the Silver Anniversary coin! I haven't ever seen one of those either, and boy, that would nicely complete va's L&L Silver Anniversary's. vadrums!... you need the Silver Anniversary coin to go with your snares! I collect/play primarily Buddy Rich model snare drums/kits... but I am drawn to the L&L Silver Anniversary snare drum. Thanks vadrums... now look what you have done! :-)

David!... so right about the "tossing out of catalogs"... my mom did it too! Well, so did I back in the day. As they say: "Who knew?" I only wish I could go back armed with what I know now. It pains me to think of WHAT I actually threw out back when... ouch.

Hey Tommy P, beautiful set of WFL's you have there. What sizes is that Buddy set from 1948? I had an aluminum badge 24,13,16 6.5 snare drum with the aluminum badges a few years back. I sold it to a friend of mine and he sold it later. He said the guy that bought it from him added a second floor tom. Just curious. I think WFL toms from 1947 had mini classic lugs all around and later switched in 1948 to large classics. I think WFL in the 50's had large lugs all around, even on 8x12's but I can't quite remember.

That 1949 piccolo is one cool drum. I have a 1959 3x13 jazz combo in BDP with a transition badge.
