WMP 60's LUDWIG COMING TOGETHER

Loading...

It feels like a long time since I got this set.(1 month) But, as I look how complete it is becoming, it really amazes me.

I'm almost there and have been documenting the project, since I got it. I can't wait to hear them for the first time!

After 20 hours of work they better sound good. I hope you enjoy the pictures because I sure do.

If insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, is it insane to practice?

Thanks. Great to hear from you. I really want to see your silver sparkle hollywood set. I had that set on my mind for awhile. How is it coming?

Slowly, but surely. I've got them down to the shells and I'm in the middle of cleaning them up. I have all the parts I need except a 16" rim and some tension rods, but they will be here soon. I still need to sand and repaint the bass hoops, too.

Also, I was considering plugging the holes from the old rail mount with dowels and patching with wrap, but I'm wanting to do carriage bolts for now. But, I can't find carriage bolts smaller than 1/4". What carriage bolts are normally used for this?

It's a pain to sand down the hoops. I don't know how I am going to get the inside of them. I keep putting it off.

Looks good Drumbum. Did you have to do any lightening? Or are they pretty much same since they look to be 1960's?

Does anyone know what cymbals would be stock? Zildjian or Ludwig/Paiste?
