Here I am again...

Came across this little hum-dinger from a bass player buddy of mine who accquired it some 20 years ago and has been shuffling it around all over creation. His wife was sick of looking at it.

I tried not to drool and get desperate, but when I asked him how much he would want for it, he replied with a "whatever"

2 crisp benjammin's later...

Sizes are:

Rack Tom: 8" x 12" #120177

Floor Tom: 14" x 14" #120242

Kick: 14" x 20" (no serial tag)

All 6-ply Maple or Maple/sumthin

Steel Snare: 5 x 14" #11047

Is this the "Broadkaster"?

Continued.

And so it has begun...

Started with the snare. Checked parts. Yep, all there except a few washers and the snare assembly has some "play". Still works though. Couldn't get the fuggin reso head off to save my life... now I know why. I ended up taking a hack saw to the hoop after stepping on head inside the shell and pulling up only resulting in a blowout. Not the kind of blowout one would get after $12.00 worth of Taco Bell, but a snap and me almost falling over.

Jackass

Started with the die-cast hoops. Dirrty little *****es, they've had a pounding.

That is "Leeloo".

aka: Supreme Being

aka: Hell on Paws

aka: Little **** Blossom

Yes on the mag test... trying to calm my heart rate down. Only sticks to the snare lugs and not much else on the entire kit.

No sticky on any of the hoops

No sticky on the shell lugs

No sticky on the kick hardware

Could it be?

What model would you call this?

thanks for the feedback!

Well leeloo has one heck of a drum kit, all the rims are diecast, that's factory, and yes the snare is brass , It may be the model#4165, I'm still checking!

Here we go!

Took apart the kick yesterday, took some extra effort getting that blasted after market tom mount off. Dissapointing that someone would do something like that.. ugh, whatever.

Cracked hoops, the intent is to a full prep/prime/paint and replace the wrap. It's broken and taped in several places on both hoops, missing sections.

(please, if I'm about to do something stupid, somebody throw something at me)

Edges... in great shape

the worst of the wrap seperation

Crack in the wrap, small and hidden by the hoop.

anybody ever been here?
