Wife not crazy about my passion

Well, I guess we all know who wears the pants in my family (not me) I had a great idea of displaying some of my cymbals on the wall, like art. Fiirst I was going to put one in our new bathroom, rejected, then I suggested the study, no way, I had to settle on the basement, I just started to hang a few and its looks awseome, I will snap some pics when I finish. If I was single I'd have pies all over the walls in every room my house. Clapping Happy2

try from a different angle with a Cymbal lampshade or a splash cymbals mobile art work type of stuff. . . lol.

i had to move the music room to the garage i insulated ,ac and heat drywall and instant studio now to figure were to park mu cars hmmm but my wife let keep my 67/68 hollywood set up in the living room through the holidays it was awesome looking at the xmas lights reflecting off my pink champagne wrap i tryed the artistic thing and she started laughing at me but at least i have a mancave

First...I love the lampshade idea! I may work on that with some junk cymbals.

As far as displaying "my passion" (well one anyway), I guess I'm just lucky. My wife loves my drums and encourages me to display all that I want. I have my snares, a Ludwig single valve bugle and three vintage foot pedals on/in the AV cabinet in the living room. Also in the living room are my congas and a Roland HD-1 practice kit. My Hollywood kit is scattered around the house, in cases with table cloths over them like end tables.

Maby you should try the antique approach like some resteraunts do. You know with old bicycles sleds pots and pans etc. Then your vintage cymbals would fit in great.

If I forget to release the strain on the snares it does. I just let them hang loose then there's no problem.

The obvious answer to your decorating dilema is to hand her a pocketbook and a new pair of shoes before you ask her if she likes the cymbal in the bathroom.

Or,stack a bunch of snares up(stagger them 14-13-14 etc),and put a round piece of thick glass on the top,and make end tables out of them.............

You can use a 26" BD as a coffee table also doing that.................

She may not even notice them!
