Anybody got an idea? Is it Yamaha's next disaster?

The new owners are Wayback MIT and Co.,Taipei,Taiwan.This is one of those obvious put-together jokes, that is,NEXT to Rogers. What a good idea....I'll lease the name Deusenburg-a classic automotive innovator-,and stick an emblem on,say,a Taurus! Then it's a Deusenburg! But it will be a 20 year old design HAIR BAND Deusenburg-which will guarantee success!Wayback MIT is also set to reintroduce the Lowrie"Genie"home organ with "magic finger"chords very soon....Yes Sir

well teverson-sr, your answer is actually good enough, so i almost didn't come forward with this.

i think this is the situation though. Trixon, never ceased to exist. It was actually a profit making company when it stopped production but due to legal entanglements with its purchasing partner (Lindner/Rippen pianos of Netherlands/Ireland),when they went into receivership and some entanglements with Vox/Thomas organs, their assets were frozen and Trixon probably became responsible for some of their partners debts. Karl-Heinz Weimer the founder and principal owner of Trixon, in addition, owned the largest music store in Germany and really didn't need the headache of disentangling Trixon, so ,they continued for a few tears doing service and possibly custom production( I have a Roxy snare stand, that has an awefull lot of Trixon in it----Roxy never made anything). The company basically went into storage for 25 years and then was sold to a friend Arthur Oeschger, who envisioned bringing the company back. He apparently had arranged for distribution through Jim Laabs Music of Stevens Point ,Wisconsin(they had been involved in Trixon distribution in the past). -----but then there was a fire, destroying most of the remaining 27 year old Trixon stock and most of the production machinery, so only a few kits were made in 1999 by Oeschger. Both Arthur Oeschger and Karl-Heinz Weimer are now deceased and Jim Laabs music is importing drums from Cathay and badging them with similar reproduction Trixon badges. I would assume that they have some registration for the name due to their former connections with Oeschger. The very same drums are available in Europe under the name Dimavery and the big core of Trixon enthusiasts and boosters in Europe and myself included(Canada) are not particularily amused. You'll note that it is TrixonUSA----the legal ownership of the name in Germany is probably not up for grabs but Jim Laabs Music has a loophole here in N.A.

Calfskin, your story is much better than mine.Has a drum company ever risen from the dregs of wishy-washiness?I heard Trixon USA is priming for the Junior-youth market.Their slogan...Silly rabbit-Trixon for kids.Burger Kin
