I inherited this rather tatty snare drum with no labels & would like to know its origin. It is 3" x 14" with 6 tensioners & a ply shell with mother of pearl finish. It looks very similar to the Ludwig Buddy Rich Be-Bop snare but the snare tensioner doesn't seem to be Ludwig. Does any one recognize this drum?

I have a set of older Premier's that have the same kind of tension rods on it, if thats any help...just a shot in the dark really.

I believe it's an Olympic Discus. Here is a scan from a 60's catalogue.

I checked on the web. The Premier Super 4 ca. 1958 has very similar tension rod holders but the drum is deeper & seems to have 8 tension rods and a different snare strainer.

I think you're right. The only difference I can see is that the picture you show has a rolled rim whereas mine doesn't. Maybe that indicates an earlier version.
