I picked these old drums up from the original owner the other day The brand is called Bollero They are in wonderful condition and quite complete including the plastic hanging bag for the drum key. The floor tom is odd as it is a 7 lug 16x16
I think the wrap was called Tiger Eye ? any idea on these drums age and which company made them I would guess either pearl or star ?
any help would be appreciated

Wow, that's one of the cleanest and complete vintage 60's MIJ sets I've seen! Congrats! And, a 7-lug floor tom, too! Very cool! To answer your question, the hardware (lugs, mounts) definitely says Star to me.

Floor tom has 7 lugs to match the number of letters in the brand name Bollero. Since Bollero (Spanish) means Baker, they were expecting the drummer to be hot or, better said, cookin' with that drum set.

Dan! Really interesting info about the reason for 7 lugs on the floor tom! I've got a Sound Percussion set with a 15" floor tom...and 5 lugs per side!

I think they probably wanted to refer to the type of music and dance called "Bolero", written with a single L and they made a spelling mistake by writing it with two LLs. The right word for baker is "panadero". Bollero is the one that sells a very specific type of bread called "bollo" (bun). Cheers.

congrats on finding such a clean original beauty of a kit
They are Pearl built not Star ...I can see by the t-rods the cymbal bracket
and most importantly the seven lug floor tom
only Pearl drilled some not all of their floor tom shells for just seven lugs
I have two in my bunch and I stripped a badly distressed third, all three were Pearl made.
Fortunate for you, they are so original and complete
as searching for a missing seven hole hoop can be frustrating.
I was going to guess Pearl, as well....the footplates look like a Pearl design.
