Any of the older information about who made these will be covered later in the extended Constantinople thread.

Great Story! I'm fortunate to have a 22" Istanbul ride. Recently refused $500 for it. Thanks!

Looks a little heavy set for Mehmet.

That guy looks a lil too hefty and he' smiles.

I don't know for sure Joe, but you may be right. It's still a mystery.

But one thing I can tell you for sure:

See that guy who's crouching down right in the middle of this photo?

Many drummers commonly make the mistake of believing that to be Joe Stalin.

But its a little known fact is that this is actually Saddam Hussein in his younger years.

I thought that was Bogie! Anyway, where was that article from!?!? Just when you start to think Mehmet should be counted out, they come up with this.. Damn.. I'm gonna find out what those Tribute rides sound like!

A question: Is the original factory and furnace still in use? If it is, by Mehmet, he is missing a huge marketing opportunity!

Actually just looking at this Turkish tradition history stuff makes me wonder why they don't really try to rub in the fact that they're still making the best cymbals in Istanbul!

I heard one of those Mikhael Zilcan tribute rides.

It sounded great to these ears. A lot like an old K. new stamp.

Unfortunately the bells are too small for these to be like something Mikael would have made back in the old K. days.

(don't really dig this one at all)

...but this Nostalgia Ride comes closer to capturing the old K. new stamp sound than any of the ones above:
