Who made Maxitone?

Stumbled on this blatant Rogers knock-off High Hat on C.L. (I wonder if it has swan legs). If it weren't an hour away, I would have picked it up for $20. So who made Maxitone? Star or Pearl? What style lug did they use? Just curious because of the obvious Rogers styling.

I worked on a Maxitone set a few years ago, and it was an MIT Pearl-style 7/8 pipes set. You should have seen the "Floating Action" MIT clone I saw in the 80's- it was EXACT...
